Returned to Amical for the Table D'Hôte dinner special and had a wonderful time! A great selection of craft brews from Bells, appetizer, small serving main course, and ice cream all for $29! Even though the portions were smaller, you are definitely filled by the end with all of the food! The Hanger Steak was delicious and cooked to a perfect medium rare with a balsamic reduction served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The perfect excuse for an early dinner! Would definitely come back to try more items on this menu. As always, the wait staff was fantastic and provided excellent service to me, my wife, and our one year old who happily enjoyed coloring with the crayons provided by the restaurant.

Location is wonderful. Love the early "happy hour" pre fix menu. Food tastes great and they have smaller plate options, which is perfect for early dinners.

Everything is always 1st class. Our favorite restaurant and staff in Traverse City. From the appetizers to the desserts it's top notch. Bill & Nancy

Wow - this is a restaurant that honors the food, flavors & season. We just missed the Prix fixe menu (4-5:00pm), we were finishing up our Asylum tour (another "don't miss") But then again, I would've missed the Chef's special: Walleye, that just came in today with a Quinoa-Sesame Crunch crust, with a Black Rice & Tahini-Stuffed Baby Eggplant (so cute & unbelievably flavorful!), Garlic Butter Poached Lakeview Hill Farm Bok Choy/ Sweet Pepper Emulsion/ Cilantro $48 Hubby had the Hanger Steak with root vegetables & we shared the amical salad. It was all remarkable & Stacy was a wonderful waitress. OK, the raspberry crème brûlée was damn good too. Oh, & the bartender mixes like a man who practices his trade - come in & start with an expertly prepared cocktail.

My boyfriend and I made a reservation at amical while visiting in Traverse City because of the rave Google reviews. The food was pretty good, the spaghetti didn't have much flavor unfortunately. The octopus and duck were good! I don't know if the price of the food matches the quality and flavor of the dishes, personally. It took about 20 minutes before we were greeted by our server and as someone in the restaurant industry, that can be a bit disappointing but I also understand that it was busy so I know to show grace in those moments. Overall, I would recommend amical, but it's not the best place I've been to in TC.

Wow, this was definitely a hit! My friend of mine which is a local recommended this spot and I'm glad we trusted her. First of all, our server was AMAZING!! I hope she gets all the recognition she deserves. She was so funny and accommodating to us, really making us feel like home. I'm sorry I don't remember her name, but she was a brunette and a bit older compared to the other servers we saw. We got super lucky. We asked for the complimentary bread which was delicious, and started with wine and I got an espresso martini which was good. The french onion soup was such a hit! I should have ordered another, lol. I got the Shrimp Pasta, which was to die for, and my mother got the seafood special which was the branzino and very delicious. The food was out of the part for Traverse City. Sometimes going up north in Michigan, the food is mediocre, but this was definitely a stand out. I would be back!

Had a great time at Amical, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get in without a reservation on the same day for Saturday night dinner. The staff working here were very courteous and friendly and professional and worked with my friend and I who came and she was dying to try the chicken pot pie! I got the tomato bisque soup which was delicious and had a nice flaky pastry on top- definitely a hearty, filling soup and I'm not going to dwell upon how creamy and delicious it was! They also served us with complimentary warm hot bread that was so tasty and came with very fresh tasting butter and also olive oil and balsamic from a shop a few doors down. I appreciate the local touches here. I also got the scallop and chorizo appetizer to go with my soup and wow, it looked so nice and tasted great with the pineapple jelly! I would've never thought all those flavors would've gone together. My only complaint is I could've used more than 2 scallops as an appetizer. The ambiance here is really nice as the patio has a roof/ awning and is fenced in/ covered so you can still get the outside vibes without having to worry about weather changes. I wish I'd gotten to try the dessert here as the carrot cake looked divine but sadly I will have to come back as I was too full! Definitely recommend coming here for a tasteful, classy delicious meal.

Nice place to have a meal in downtown TC. We didn't have a reservation, but were still able to walk in and be seated right away during peak dinner hours. Our table was towards the back, near big windows that let a lot of light in. The restaurant has cute french bistro decor and a relaxed ambiance. For drinks, I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a few options for non-alcoholic cocktails - I settled on the watermelon spritz and it was very refreshing. For food, I ordered the salmon, but requested no butter or salt. It was supposed to come with black rice, and to their credit, they were honest and told me it had been pre-prepared with butter and salt, so switched it with potatoes. Everything tasted fresh and the other members of my party really enjoyed their dishes too, including dessert.

Another cute restaurant right in the heart of downtown Traverse City, located right next door to the State Theatre! We got a perfect street parking spot right outside the restaurant on Front Street, which was also super convenient, but I'd definitely expect that to not be the case during the summer, warm months when TC is overrun with tourists, so be forewarned that you'll probably need to find parking elsewhere further away, but there's plenty throughout the downtown area. The inside of the restaurant has a cozy, upscale feel to it. The lights are dim, the bar is surprisingly small, there's an open kitchen concept so you can see them cooking away, and there are tables all the way to the back where there are giant windows, giving you a prime view of Grand Traverse Bay. We came with a big party and I'd say this place isn't super well suited for larger parties. We had a party of 7 and their tables fit 6 comfortably, so they put a chair at the head of the table, which was pretty awkward because it was half into the walkway where waiters and customers were walking by throughout our entire dinner. There was also a bit of an issue in the restaurant and their online reservation system where it hadn't captured the correct amount within our party when our friend who had reserved it had changed the party size. The online system had confirmed the change, but the restaurant hadn't received the update so couldn't account for a larger party than 7 (we had tried to up it to 8). Food-wise, it was delicious! All of us really enjoyed our food. I got the mushroom stroganoff, which was divine! If you're a fan of mushrooms, you will definitely be a fan of this like I was! The different mushrooms offered different textures and the flavors were all so delicious, layered, and satisfying, without being too heavy or too creamy. They are also known for their raspberry crème brûlée and I'm a huge fan of crème brûlée so it was a no brainer that I had to order it! If I'm being honest, it didn't taste any different to me than any other crème brûlée I've had, but that also just means I enjoyed it a ton since this is one of my favorite desserts! All in all, a great meal and a great time with friends!
